My Process

1. Discovery

It all starts with a little communication. You tell me about your company, your project, and what you want your brand to be. With that information in mind, I develop a strategy that helps you achieve those goals based on my approach to the process of design and brand development.

2. Research & Strategy

Because I focus on a holistic approach to design, I research, strategize, and develop the right concepts for your business. My goal is to help you build a strong and recognizable brand in your industry.

3. Concept

Once the initial concepts are released, I discuss them with you and provide you with valuable feedback detailing where the project is heading and what you can expect in the fleshed out designs.

4. Design

The design process is fairly straightforward. Based on our discussions, I design the different elements of the project to fit the needs of your business. It’s during this stage that my initial concepts become a reality and start to take form.

5. Refine

Even the best definers need to refine their work. After submitting the initial designs, I take your feedback and refine the designs to further suit your goals.

6. Finalize

Finishing touches are applied based on the last round of feedback. Minor changes are made to ensure that the designs gel with the personality you are creating for your brand.

7. Apply

Once the designs are tangible, we can start to apply them to the different areas of your business. This means applying them to marketing materials, visual assets, social media, and whatever platforms your business uses.

8. Launch

When everything is finalized and ready to go, it’s time to launch. The final assets are handed over to you so you can officially launch them and marvel at what your brand has become.

Q1. WHAT'S THE FIRST STEP IN GETTING STARTED?

After your first contact, I’ll reach out to you and book a free 30-minute discovery call. The aim of this call is to get to know you and your business to see if we are a good fit. You should expect to answer questions about your business, your processes, and any timelines you have for the project.

Q2. HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE YOU TO COMPLETE MY BRAND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT?

There isn’t a single answer to this question. The length of a project is determined by things like complexity, your responsiveness, and the overall goals we set. On average, a brand development project takes around 6 weeks from start to finish. If you request additional marketing pieces, or other services, expect the project to take a little longer.

Q3. DO YOU HAVE PAYMENT PLANS?

Absolutely! Most brand development projects require a 40% deposit, 30% will be required at the concept stage, and the remaining 30% around project completion.

I accept both debit, credit (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), and wire transfers for larger orders. I do not currently accept PayPal.

Q4. WHAT IF I DON’T NEED ANYTHING OTHER THAN A LOGO?

While it may seem simpler to just have a logo created, my brand development services are meant to help you create all of the assets you need to build your brand. I work with you to build consistency, to nurture your brand identity, and to help you develop a sound strategy for future execution of your brand initiatives.

I do a lot of research through my holistic approach to design to help you figure out what works for brands in your industry, who your target audience is, what problems they face, and everything you need to create a well-developed brand.

Q5. HOW MANY CONCEPTS AND REVISIONS DO YOU PROVIDE?

I provide two to three concepts/ideas for your brand identity and two rounds of revisions which are included in a regular brand development project. This may not seem like a lot, but my philosophy is quality over quantity. I put a lot of effort into creating a few great concepts because I spend a lot of time researching and getting to know your business.

Q6. DO YOU HAVE BUSINESS HOURS?

Like all humans, I do need to sleep from time to time. That means I keep a structured schedule so that I can respect my client’s time and leave enough time for myself. I work a standard work week and you can expect to reach me between 9am and 6pm EST, Monday to Friday. I reply to all emails within one business day.

Q7. HOW SOON CAN WE START MY PROJECT?

Project start dates are influenced by a few different factors. I try to limit how many projects I take on each month in order to ensure I have enough time to provide your project with the focus it deserves. After requesting your project, we’ll go over a timeline together and determine an official start date. Sometimes life gets busy, I get that. If your project has a tight deadline, make sure to let me know during your initial email or during our discovery call.

Q8. WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME DURING THE PROCESS?

This project is more than just a series of designs, it’s a partnership.

Yes, I’ll be handling the actual designs, but your feedback is critical and will guarantee that you get what you want out of the process of design.

Every project starts with an initial consultation. Here, I’ll explain exactly what I’ll need from you depending on the project. You’ll be expected to complete a brand development questionnaire and a shared inspiration Pinterest board before I get started.

You will also need to provide me the content for any marketing materials that I am creating (copywriting, locating stock images, overall direction, and other assets). If you do not have it and need some help, I work with some great copywriters and specialists who I am more than happy to introduce you to.

Once I get started, I’ll still need your feedback. Remember, this is a partnership, not a one-man show. In order to stay on track, I’ll need any approvals and revisions to be completed as quickly as possible. Failure to provide the required materials or feedback by the agreed upon deadlines could result in delays or the project getting rescheduled.

Following the initial agreement, I will create a client portal page for you where you can track progress, access drafts, and find all of the information you need to keep the project on schedule.
